学习中文没有什么捷径，绝不能在短时间内靠所谓的技巧就可以理解并运用成百上千个汉字，靠的是持续的听说读写训练。因此，教材的选择、教学内容的多样化和教学方法的灵活性十分重要。
学校统一使用暨南大学为海外华裔孩子编纂的《中文》为基本教材，佐以适当的国学内容，使孩子们在学习课文的时候，亦能学到中华传统文化。课文中的古典诗词、成语典故、民间故事、人文地理、中西方传统节日的对比，让他们明白了中西方文化、审美、思维方式之异同。学校常年组织的演讲比赛、征文比赛、诗歌朗诵比赛、文化知识大赛、庙会、寻根之旅夏令营等活动更是给孩子们提供了锻炼勇气、展示中文才能的平台，极大地激发了他们学习中文的兴趣，提高了中文水平，了解了中华文化，做到了知与行相结合。
